Important Notice for Parents whose children’s birthdays fall in the months of October 2023, November 2023 and December 2023.
Nursery Admissions (Academic Year 2026–27)
Dear Parents,
Children born between October 2023 and December 2023 fall within the government-approved age group for Nursery admission for the academic year 2026–27 (from 1st July 2022 to 31st December 2023).
However, it has been observed that children born in the later months — October, November, and December 2023 — may still be developing important milestones such as clear speech, toilet training, and fine and gross motor skills. Many of these children typically reach these milestones 6–7 months after the school year begins in June.
Because of their very young age, some children may initially find it difficult to adjust to the classroom environment or daily school routine.
During the admission process, if it appears that a child may benefit from a little more time for developmental growth, parents will be gently counselled to consider admission in the next academic year. Children born in October, November, and December 2023 will also be eligible for Nursery admission next year, by which time they will have completed 3 years of age — an age that is generally ideal for starting Nursery with confidence and joy.
At age 3 and above, children are usually more school-ready, making their first learning experiences happy, comfortable, and meaningful.
